I'm looking for some good travel vlogs. Preferably from backpackers who travel to less known places on a shoe string. All recommendations are welcome though.

Thanks brother, I'm surprised you saw it the last time I posted it a long time ago. That's when I started a thread similar to like this.

My exchange semester in Namibia ended in June, after which I returned to Finland where I'm now. I haven't made videos in English since because many of the topics have been so Finland related. In fact I'm going to start doing videos for a Finnish national broadcasting company in a couple of weeks.

In a couple of months, however, I'm planning on going to Myanmar and make more videos from there. Maybe in English. So stay tuned!

The best one I know is the one of that guy who wanted to go to Madagascar and spycam'd his way up there. It wasn't finished last time I checked though. Masterful editing, even if the guy should be shot in the head.

I'd like to start vlogging but know next to nothing when it comes to recording videos. Does anyone know of a good place to look for resources? I tried recording some videos but walking around with a camera makes it shake a lot and the resulting videos turned out kinda crap. On the other hand I can't afford to buy much gear other than the tripod I already have, would love to get a slider but those cost like $500 :/

While some of Casey's videos are a bit uneventful, I still think he's got a good thing going on.

What do you think of this video of mine? I try to make a point of how many travel shows give a very one sided view of what travelling really is like. Usually they only show the fun bits but leave out the feelings of loneliness, boredom and even depression that often come with (solo) travelling.

The audio quality is not very good but I hope you can understand what I'm saying.

I think you're absolutely right. The funfun part was that long partly because I wanted to leave a memory for my friends and me.

Anyways, I'd like to see a travel vlog that is more about the philosophy of travel rather than just showing how much good time you're having.

Another interesting idea, I think, would be to make a travel vlog about cultures. Kind of like how guide books have chapters about local culture and dos and don'ts.On my next rtrip I will attempt something like that.

That's what I'm trying to find out.

I don't want to make slick promotional videos or journalistic documentaries.

It has to be personal and raw without becoming to self-centered. Something that shows an unique side of a place without becoming to prearranged.
