Tips for travelling during Winter / December? Planning for about 10 days wander around Europe towards start of December. Anything I should note? I live in South Wales, UK so I'm bretty used to cold weather. Basically all I need to know is am I going to freeze to death if I'm wearing something like a shirt and hoody? Countries I'd like to get to would probably be France, Belgium, Poland, Germany, maybe Netherlands.

Seeing any MORE than this would make your schedule way too busy and you won't be able to enjoy your stays.

Probably.

Bruges is terribly overrated imo tbh. I went to the top of the tower and ironically it's not the windy stairs that is the challenge, it's getting past the pack of slow handicapped people who can't take more than one step per minute.

I pretty much agree. But I tried to squeeze as much in without being unreasonable. But man, if you'd stay in Paris or Berlin for a week you still wouldn't be bored for a moment. I'd say the same also goes for Amsterdam, if you explore it's surroundings a bit.

I disagree. It's a beautiful atmospheric city and a trip on the water alone is worth your stay. The architecture is great. Though I think I'd prefer Ghent.

Yeah, just make sure you have decent shoes, a hoodie or sweater, a normal winter coat and maybe some gloves. And even if you miss them you can always buy them there. It's cold, but it's not exactly Siberia.

I think not. There's a lot of things to see in Paris and 3 days is definitively not enough.
A week is the minimum for me, 2 weeks if you wanna do visit most part of the museums and monuments.
And if you want to visit everything take a month.

But that's what I think. I don't like to hurry when I'm in holidays

Ten days without a proper jacket and the right fabrics seems kind of immature. You should be well aware that having a little lambswool in the fabric is way better than some cotton hoodie. Geez? What's with the workout wear? Either get a silk long john layer going under your top, some sport tech wicking fabric, or you get a 3-in-1 idea, to handle moisture as well as wind. If you plan to duck into buildings if the weather is foul, and buy a cheap umbrella, fine. But, you would be better prepared to dress a bit more classic preppy than casual indoor stuff. Wool jacket or coat with pockets, or 3-in-1, and then a seriously good scarf/hat gloves. Don't forget the wool blend socks and boots, and you'll be okay. The right layers helps you in a range of 40 degrees or more.

Depends what you're used to, mate. I just got back from Cologne yesterday and I was absolutely freezing when it was 6C. Because I'm from Australia and only had a jumper and light jacket on.
