Hey fags, Belgianfag reporting in.
So a friend and I are planning a 3 week trip to the US next summer. Below is a provisional route for a couple days NYC and about a 2 week car rental travel through the West Coast -> North to South.
1) When/where should we buy plane tickets, and are these long flights susceptible to changes in hours/dates?
2) When driving down the West Coast, is it possible/worth it to bring a tent and camp at some places down the road?
3) Any places recommended that aren't in my list yet, or some in my list that aren't worth it?
4) General tips and ideas are appreciated.
So, we will be looking for a flight to NY out of Brussels/Amsterdam/Nearby german cities.
In NY: Guggenheim Museum(25dollar entry), Central Park, 5th Avenue(St Patricks cathedral), American Natural History Museum (22dollar entry), Brooklyn botanic garden(12dollar entry), Times Square, NYC Skyline, Empire State building
Fly from NY -> Seattle
West Coast:
Washington state:
-Seattle
-Olympic National Park
Oregon:
-Portland
California:
-Avenue of the Giants
-San Francisco: Golden Gate, Crazy Lombard street, Marine park (Elephant seals, SF Garter Snake)
-Half Moon Bay
-Ano Nuevo State Park
-(possibly): Yosemite National Park
-Santa Cruz: Rio Theatre - local music, The Wharf - Restaurants and shops, Palomar - night time salsa dancing, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, Wilder Ranch State Park
-Monterey Bay: Point Lobos State Natural Reserve, Big Sur (na SF), San Simeon
Drive from San Simeon -> Malibu = +-3,5hrs
-Malibu: Exit Malibu via the stunning Topanga Canyon – a popular weekend hideaway for Hollywood superstars for years.
-Los Angeles
Hollywood Walk of Fame
Santa Monica Pier
Griffith Observatory
Universal Studios
-(possible):
detour via long beach over 2miles coronado bridge towards San Diego
-San Diego
Flight back to NY
