Hello!
I am planning a trip to the east cost (DC, philly and New York) and I'm from South America and don't have a car. I planned to travel anytime from 14 to 20 days. I wanted to do a bit of nightlife, parties, meeting people (women), sleeping in youth hotels and in the second part of the travel visit the natural wonders of America, specially the beautiful state and national parks. Specially the Appalachian mountains and the Hacklebarney state park http://www.state.nj.us/dep/parksandforests/parks/hackle.html
So I was planning to pack both a travel handbag with clothes for going out/night and then a backpack with the lugagge for the hiking/camping and just leave whatever don't use at whatever hostel i am sleeping in.
So I have a couple of questions:
First obvious one, is it safe to travel with a travel bag and a backpack?
I was planning to visit to visit the Hacklebarney state park. Can I get there without a car? is not too far away from a small town, i can't remember the name now
Can I get into the appalachians without a car?
It's comparatively easy to finds for going out/parties at cities, but is there any awesome natural place I can travel to without a car?
Thank you very much! :)
