Hey /trv/! I live in the US and have already grown very tired of the humdrum of working life (I'm only 20, been working since I was 15) I want to hit the road for a few years and explore this wonderful planet we call home, and in turn find out who I really am in the absence of expectation. I have several questions about road life, the most prominent one being will i be safe?
I am currently residing in Casper, WY. and plan on heading south to California meet up with some travelers I met in Chicago. Whats the best way to get to get to Cali from Wyoming? Hitchhike? Train?
I have a budget of around $1500. I need a sleeping bag, backpack, ect. What kind of backpack should I buy for extended travel? Is there an all seasons tent that I can pick up on the cheap? Are there any items I might need that have yet to cross my mind?
Any help and/or resources you can offer me are greatly appreciated.
