Cuba is a poor country, but it's also a Caribbean one, and a Latin one. Y'know, passion and dance and all that jazz. Still, it's also a communist one, and one of the goals of commie society was to smash down traditional patriarchal structures, etc. etc. You can debate how successful that was, but in short it means that there is no stigma about either liking or having sex for women or men. It's one of the few things Cubans could still enjoy, and they do. Think of it less of a 'whore country', and more of a country where open sexuality is something it's easy for you to get in on. As a 'rich' gringo, however, you will be expected (fairly) to contribute some of your yankee greenbacks for the privilege.
