Well, the way I see it is that, if you want to fix your stuff travel gives you plenty of time and opportunity to do so. Thats what I did, little bit of preparation at home and off i was, everything went well and I made progress on every aspect.
Then I started work and travel, minimum wage job and living in a hostel dorm with no privacy and a lot of issues. Mental stress 24/7. While I did it I was still thinking about improving myself and made plans for later.
When i was done I was broken and back to scratch. Sitting in paradise right now, depressed as hell. Don't really know how to get myself out of it. Also lost a hell of a lot money during work time.
How did you spend that year and a half? Was fixing your problems part of your plan?
