Going to move to New York City this January. Sad because leaving friends behind and a bit apprehensive because although I've been there once already for a short trip, I have no idea what it'll be like. I know literally no one in that town, moving into a tiny place in Manhattan and going to be looking for work in Business.

Any major, must-know tips from people who've lived there or still live there? What's life like there? What should I keep an eye out for (both good and bad)?

Not asking for a complete guide, which would probably be the size of the Divine Comedy, but any basics or useful tips would be much appreciated.
