how isn't it? it's one of the most experimental, yet extraordinarily accessible, films ever made. it's a movie that's incredibly beautiful and offers a genuinely optimistic view of existence that is delivered without a trace of sentimentality or irony. Extremely affecting and a nearly perfect realization of naturalism. Offers itself up as an endless conversation piece due to its layered narrative and techniques, both of which work together seamlessly. How is it not?

You guys have been ruined by memes and shit taste. It's just shameful that most of you like a huge piece of gratuitous garbage like Birdman and then criticize Boyhood for its structure which is integrated into the film for a meaningful purpose.

I saw this a couple weeks ago in IMAX and had a great time. Given the kind of movies Del Toro makes I'm not quite sure what everyone else was expecting from this. All of his movies are 2/4 at best really. And this one is nothing different. Go in with the right expectations and you'll be entertained.

Is it the trailer that was misleading maybe?
