This could legitimately make a good movie. Cut down the villains to just Doku, the Emperor and Alma and turn it into a noir detective/revenge flick with some cool action scenes.

I'd say it's better than those two because holy fucking shit enemies in NG are REALLY trying to kill you, the weakest fucking grunt if you don't pay attention with clock 1/3 of your life AND THAT'S NOT EVEN A FUCKING NINJA, some dickless soldier cunt with a bowie knife will see you idling and happyily grab you from across the room and slit your throat and before you even crumple to the ground his buddy hits you with a rocket launcher.

That's pretty much what Itagaki said in an interview, I think he said "In other games, you kill the enemies, but in Ninja Gaiden, the enemies kill you." We need more game designers like him.
