That material should have been burned or sealed in a vault, not made into a movie and subjected upon audiences. Anybody who said those things in real life would deserve to die by my standards, the fact that we're actually supposed to like these characters is downright offensive. The only way you could make characters like that work is if you were supposed to despise the vacuous awful people like in The Comedy. Jesse and Celine deserve death for their crimes. Linklater, Hawke and Delpy deserve death for bringing them to life in any capacity other than as a stark indictment of the modern 20 something, 30 something and 40 something.

I dunno. Taking the trilogy as a whole, while it is a huge achievement and definitely a masterpiece (with Sunset being the best of the three), I do think Boyhood is Linklater's best film. Linklater is fucking amazing though. Dazed and Confused is probably the best teen movie ever made. School of Rock is one of the best "kids" movies ever made. And then he has a handful of other great movies. One of the best Mmurican directors for me
