I agree and disagree.
What it did right it did pretty damn right, action scenes were enjoyable, especially the climax of the movie, nice couple of nods to classic Bond, decent use of secondary characters like M, Moneypenny and Q, and it tied together the Craig films nicely.

But...

It was overly long, some scenes went on for too long or were completely unnecessary and C and Bautista's character were both forgettable as fuck. Also generic 'muh spies are obsolete' plot that they already covered in Skyfall.

Better than Quantum, that's for sure.

I found them to be really quite dull, especially the car chase in rome. And where the fuck did he get a plane from?

Yeah, that's probably a good example of one of the scenes that would've been much better if it were shorter.

Now that you mention it, where did he get that boat from under MI6? Or was it already established that it was there and I missed it?

The whole film was a mixed bag. I wanted to like it, and there were plenty of parts to like, but there was a lot of... meh.

Also, worst Bond song of all time. Good lord.

"Oberhauser" was creepy as fuck. Properly chilling, palpably evil villain. Made the movie for me. Something about his eyes. The friendly, almost playful demeanour never quite matching his calm, cool gaze. That, and his habit of engaging in conversational sadism.

It was pretty great to see some of the classic Bond tropes again. The luxury villainous lair/ evil super-base. The hordes of faceless henchmen.

I hope the next Bond is Fassbender and they make something more like Dalton-era 007.
