Stand up comedy.
None of my hopes and dreams have come true. I've worked my whole life and have nothing. I live in LA and am hoping to become a stand up comic than turn that into a sitcom or movie roles.
I'm tired of being a nobody loser and I see all these no talent losers on tv and these shitty comics with careers and I think "hey I can be that shitty no talent comic."
I drive by the comedy store every day and choke up that I might not ever become anything.
Appreciate any constructive advice anon.

I used to go to a lot of the smaller alt rooms around LA. Great scene, where do you to watch and or perform?

I was thinking the improv, comedy store because that's where all young hip people go and there might be a casting agent in the crowd. It's a shot. My life is shit and I'm drowning. I gotta try something

Go ahead and do it. You'll only start to get better if you try and fail miserably many times over. But you should know that already, so psyche yourself up and just do the actions that'll lock yourself in to actually scheduling yourself on stage.

Well what are the right reasons to get into it? I like making people laugh, I'm pretty good at it what's wrong with using it so I dont commit suicide before I'm 40? I'm just trying to make a life pal

That's not where you start out cutting your teeth fam. Doesn't seem like you have any clue what you're doing. You're gonna have to do some open mics at some shitty places before you even have a serviceable 10 minutes.

I highly recommend you go see some shows first at any of the following: Hot tub, Comedy Palace, Little Joy, Meltdown, Sleepaway Camp

Muh nig nog. Love that show. Best free show in LA. In all seriousness though dude the improv and store suck dick. All they do is exploit you for expensive as fuck drinks and you have about twice as likely to lose part of your 3 minutes to fucking drunk normie hecklers. Echoes Under Sunset is so much more worthwhile if you're starting out, drinks are ridiculously cheaper, and you'll make more friends than if you go to the store since its just people dick sucking management. If all you want is success, by all means, but that place is about as stuck in the 90s as it gets.

Just do it man. I live in NC, no job, no money. But there's a whole bunch of open mics in the area, almost one every night of the week. Just get up there and get used to being on stage. Take improv classes too, this will help you get comfortable on stage, and also help with idea generation. Just keep plugging at it man, it's the only way.
