CIA survives the plane crash, but gets thrown into a coma. His mind changes radically during the coma, initially obsessed with the big guy who bested him. What starts as hatred soon turns to admiration, and then emulation. His mind adopts everything he knows about the masked man, both the stuff of legend and what he witnessed first hand. Nine years later he wakes up, and with no sign of the real Bane in the world, reasons that the man he was unknowingly obsessed about during his slumber must have been himself. He acts, talks, believes he always and always will be Bane. And thus Bane's master plan comes full circle. Even though he died during the events of TDKR, he will never truly die as long as the newly born Venom Bane continues his legacy.
