Mouse Hunt is a lovely tribute to Stan Laurel & Oliver Hardy movies and the then dying/now deceased slapstick genre.

Home Alone is a fucking classic Christmas movie that utilizes some slapstick but always in the last half of the movie.

I think its because the idea is so upsured and ridiculous things done to catch the mouse, along with the twist ending just makes it so comfy while Home alone is just a pg 13 slasher.

A woman's hair is set on fire, by accident. Ernie is hit by a bus. Workers turn on their bosses and charge at them with weapons. Fianlly fed up with the mouse, Ernie pulls out a rifle and starts shooting at the mouse, and at one point aims it at Lars when he insults him. Almost all of this is played for laughs.

Not to mention Christopher Walken is psychotic.

Home Alone 2 has bigger budget and it's comfier so I'm gonna go with that one.
