Why did everyone find this scary? I admit it jumped me when it popped around the corner but that was it.

I think Lost Highway was spookier imo

this, in fact the whole movie does a great job of building dread. the way lynch moves the camera not quite fast enough for you to know what's behind the corners is perfect.

It wasn't just the jump out, although that did help. It was because of the suspense before the jump out. Just like any good horror movie does, focus on suspense, less on the actual scares.

Mullholland Drive had less scares and was overall more surreal and less scary
