>>62242078Not every movie has a point or agenda, Verhoeven makes goofy action movies, he was never concerned with Heinlein's adolescent ideas on society, just used the basic premise of a space-war with bug aliens to make cool action and funny stuff. Verhoeven's actually a hardcore Christian scholar outside of making movies if that helps you understand his politics at all. Robocop actually looks like he's walking on water at one point and that was completely intentional, also Murphy's arms are splayed out as though on a cross when the gang kills him. Verhoeven's a cool dude.
And if you still care about your shitty meme-fascism read Thomas Carlyle, he's the superior edgy adolescent philosopher.
I think Vladimir Nabokov said that reading books for characters to identify with is childish and wanting to learn how to live from them is adolescent. The real way to do it is to read for the art of it. Stop being a butthurt faggot about the message of your beloved pulp science-fiction being mangled by a Dutch nerd and appreciate what makes the movie great and Heinlein's writing mediocre.
