On that note, the rail bridge in 1985 didn't move even slightly in 100 years. Like, the tracks would have moved over time, not to mention it was a new bridge structure, so it may be at a slightly different elevation. The DeLorean should have appeared, and immediately derailed, flipped and crashed at 88MPH

I've heard this before, but I assume it moves relative to the earth itself, like. That's why he had to be driving 88MPH and hit the lightning bolt cable in part 1, rather than just put the car up on bricks and run a solid cable from the car to the top of the clock tower while revving it.

if you accept that the rails were aligned well enough not to derail the delorean on it's own, then the rotation of the earth would have made an insignificant effect.

Erosion at the base of the structures that hold the rails in 1985 COULD have affected the elevation but those are the kind of things that are still within suspension of disbelief.

When it travels through time, that traction is carried with it, allowing it to remain in the same position but in a different time. This also modified slightly to explain >>62243156. The DeLorean carries the "memory" of the surfaces it was touching before traveling through time. This is how it is able to reappear level with the existing surface and not 2m above/below.
