I think its more them not being aware of him when you were. Doug, AVGN, all those guys, they have the Mad Magazine type of appeal. The best one is always the first one you see, then it gets worse and worse as you realize the jokes and commentary are the same every week/month/etc.
Why does MAD still exist? Because there are still people who've never read one and are moments from picking it up tomorrow and to them it'll be a brand new thing. Same with these guys.
