I hate him so much. He has no charisma and has no idea how to run a show. He is not a gameshow host, he is a showman. He is more interested in presenting the Andrew O'Keefe Experience than hosting a show. Also that laugh he does every two minutes or so - so forced an insincere! He is such a phony and gets basic elements of hosting The Chase wrong. In fact the Australian version just sucks in general. Also the fake studio applause... the less said about that, the better.

I don't know if it's popular. They show it at 3pm on weekdays which isn't exactly primetime. But it clearly does well enough for the network to try and produce an Australian version.

Everyone I know who watches the show here prefers the British version - no one I know likes the Australian one. The British version is actually quite popular, considering the time that its broadcasted (3pm), while the Australian version is in primetime slot as is promoted to all hell, probably because few actually watch it.

We don't have a New Zealand version yet, but the British version is on at dinner time.

The US version has the Beast, the Australian version has the Governess, so would a New Zealand version get the Barrister or the Sinnerman? My vote would go to the Sinnerman because we have a substantial Indian population here. I'd rather have both though, hosted by Simon Barnett.

Not that I know of, it's just an idea I was throwing around. We get repeats of the British version (the previous season, so different episodes than what we see in the evening) airing at 11am as well, and it has its own TVNZ OnDemand page with episodes viewable.

Most NZ versions of popular gameshows don't tend to last more than a season or two at the most. Deal or No Deal, The Weakest Link etc. At least Wheel of Fortune had a decent run if I remember correctly, though we don't have it now.

We get all the episodes from about 3 years ago. It's sort of like Coronation Street, ironically enough: we consistently get new episodes that are a few years old, if you know what I mean.

You're actually really lucky that Deal or No Deal didn't catch on - we had to sit through, like, 10 years of it. Did you guys have anything like Temptation or Sale of the Century? We had them years ago and I miss that type of gameshow. The only really successful gameshows we have here are a derivative of Who Wants to be a Millionaire and Family Feud.

I remember when that started out they had a series of questions to decide who would be the competitor. It was the only bit of the show that was like a more traditional gameshow. They ditched it later and had them choose the player at random.

We might have had those at some point, but not that I'm aware of. Our episodes are three years old as well, with the midday one being 4 years old. I'm waiting for us to get the 2015 ones so I can see the Vixen in action.

Duncan was a cocky fucker that went up first, took the high offer and made it back. The fourth contestant took something like -£6000. Duncan, mad as fuck, called him a maggot, clearly threw the final chase and said something like "I'm happy the maggot didn't win". The other two players were visibly uncomfortable through all of this.

I'd love to see what was edited out of that episode.
