I know we all know Prometheus was God awful. Im just astounded that they went forward with it.

So the premise was that God aliens created our species. That idea has been done a million times, and it was shitty the first time. Who does that story appeal to? It violates everything we know about evolutionary history, and its unappealing to anyone religious (Im not saying it has to be scientifically or theologically accurate, just that it violates everyones sensibility with no advantage to the plot).

I'm just upset at the title. It was originally "Paradise", meant to run alongside the Alien storyline, not meant to join up with it.

I do love Prometheus, despite it's obvious flaws. I just wish it wasn't something that would come full-circle. It seemed more like a tale of imminent doom than a conjoined canon to the franchise.

No. The original ANH didn't even have an episode number. This was added as a half-assed excuse to tell you that you were dropped into the middle of a story.

At least with Prometheus, Scott was intent on doing a divergent plot. Now, it's almost become the Episode 1 of Alien.
