Probably one of favorite movies of all time fam. Just wish they had kept the original ending where Somerset was revealed to be the killer and not bitched out with by using the alternate that shows up in the actual film.

It would require everything after the point of Kevin Spacey's character turning himself in to be different otherwise it would be a complete ass pull and would detract from the quality of the movie.

Which is why the alternate ending was used. I can see what they were going for with the "Sommerset is innocent" route, but it wasn't nearly as satisfying as it would have been had he been the real killer as planned.
