Kim's storyline is the main thing that the movies cut from the comics. Kim Pine is MAJOR waifu material in the comics. She has the best personality and sense of humor. She always has Scott's back even though he is a dick and constantly friendzones her. She's a hot as fuck redhead too. She even gets drunk and makes out with the asian girl in one scene.
I'm kind of glad that most of her story wasn't in the movie, because Alison Pill isn't nearly cute enough to play Kim, and I feel like a lot of her humor wouldn't translate well to the screen.

Aubrey Plaza's comedy style is really similar to Kim, especially on Parks and Rec, but I agree that it wouldn't have worked to cast her as Kim because they look so different. She did pretty well as the coffee shop bitch.

Yeah. The movie is really faithful to a point.

Then its like they realized it needed to be 2 hours and not 6.

They almost could have done better by splitting it I to two movies but its a pretty nichey/odd movie so the cost/risk probably wasn't there.

Envy is waaaay more fleshed out in the books too. Hell the books are almost more about Scott's exes than Ramona's.

Yeah they changed the last few bosses, but the only story section they completely cut was Kim's story. The first 2/3 or so of the movie was pretty faithful.

They cut out everything with Envy.

They cut out Roxy living with Ramona when Scott and her broke up.

They cut out all the robot fights with the Twins.

They cut out Stephen Stiles turning gay.

Basically, any character story outside of Scott and Ramona.

Also Scott was way more of a douche in the books.
