Why are there no BluRay releases of Kubrick's Shining, Full Metal Jacket and Eyes Wide shot in the original 4:3 aspect ratio as they were shot?

All HD tranfers seem to be "cropped" on the top / at the bottom so they can fill 16:9 screens.

Is there a disturber which fucks quality for the home market more up than Warner Bros? And I am not only speaking about home video market but also vidyas etc.
