Would a movie about about a group of people being lost in the uninhabited zone of the north west territories and being stalked and manipulated by a highly intelligent wendigo that uses the voice and body of its victims be very commercially successful if it had good writing and a good director?

Were talking suspense thriller horror with similarities to the movie Stalker and The Game.

Obviously good writing and a good director makes a high grossing film but im speaking in terms of one of films that everybody remembers for a very long time.
