>>1886262>>1886277>>1887197Riven is a wanderer, and while it might seem weird for her to find herself back in the nation she personally assisted in invading, it wouldn't be too far-fetched for Karma to let her stay in Ionia as a private guest, since she'd likely accept her desire for atonement, especially since it's a chance to have Riven acquainted with the Ionian perspective given her recent skepticism of the current Noxus's ideology. Riven might want to conceal her identity while in Ionia, so she keeps a dragon mask on (one she either found or was given to her by Karma, what with the Dragonblade skin she has) almost all the time when out in public (she won't be out of place, taking into consideration the rest of the Ionian champions), and I think it would be nice to have her approach Poppy during the Lunar Festival out of sheer curiosity since she's never seen a yordle before, especially not one in a kimono and pigtails, among other things. That gets around having to come up with some contrived political reason for Poppy being there, because now she's simply visiting for the festivities, and there would be intrigue on Poppy's part due to Riven's own interesting appearance and behavior.
Additionally, there are a lot of opportunities here to give further interpretation of their characters (Riot skimped out on the exposition for earlier characters after all), like having Riven impulsively touch Poppy's hair, immediately getting past any potential 'guard,' opening their initial interaction in a quirky way and also setting the tone for their story, which I don't think should be particularly serious, but I do think it would have a lot of dry humor mixed in with all the getting-to-know-each-other bits.
It would probably still be hard to write this past the initial scenes, and I have a vague idea of its progression, but a more clever writer can definitely knock this out of the park and have fun with it.
I personally just want to draw the porn.
