I don't think you realize just how dramatically things can change over time. Before say, 2009 or 2010, the PS3 was a fucking joke compared to the 360, to the point that Xbox fags where writing songs and posting them on YouTube on how the PS3 is a piece of shit.

True, and it's a very real threat if Sony continues to be as complacent as they are. They're riding the 2013 marketing wave far too hard and coasting mostly on remasters, re-releases, and the same multiplats that PC and Xbone are getting. The exclusives on it generally look like hot garbage too. On top of that, as cynical as it may sound Sony could very realistically pull a Kinect with PlayStation VR. There's a surprising amount of room for Xbone to come back if they play their cards right.

This also brings up that I seriously doubt the PS4 can keep its momentum with this much longer. I think by now we're in the twilight stages of this whole PS4 selling like fucking insanity for no apparent reason, only for a short boost in sales around Uncharted 4's launch, and then after that... Well we'll see.

Sales-wise, Microsoft has set itself up to smash their face into a wall by making their console entirely USA-centric. The One is next to irrelevant in all of Europe bar the UK, most of South America, all the emerging markets, and of course Japan. Paying attention to all these markets is how Sony placed 150m PS2s, and how the PS3 eventually managed its "recovery".

Yes I am. Sony is experiencing great success and is on the cusp of releasing a "game changing" gimmick. MS shot themselves in the foot at launch but is showing signs of recovery.

Sounds an awful lot like 360 v PS3 circa 2009 to me. Granted there's some differences - no one is trying to copy Nintendo this time - but we'll see what happens. This next year, if Sony fucks up and MS takes advantage of that, could be very interesting from a momentum perspective.

What? it's all-in one gaming machine, for multiplats and several "exclusives". People chose between Xbone, PS4 and WiiU. Ps4 is more powerful, has all the multiplats with exclusive content and 1 or 2 decent exclusives with several good "exclusives".
It sells for a very good reason.

Not really when as of this writing last gen is almost as viable. The thing about the majority of multiplats up to this point is that they're also on 360 and PS3. That's set to change within the next year, sure, but it doesn't explain why PS4 is so successful when most of its good games can also be played on PC, Xbone, PS3, or 360.

The PS3 didn't have exclusive but it didn't have multiplats either. PS4 already has shit ton of multiplats (with PC and Xbone) but also shit ton of Japanese games that are available on PS3/Vita.

It is only to get better from now on. I mean Yakuza 6 is Ps4 exclusive.

Some games it runs worse than Xbone, some don't. Witcher 3 for example ran better on Xbone.

There's only one reason why the PS4 sold so well. Microsoft pissed Twitter fags and Nintendo pissed Youtube fags. Believe it or not but those people make other people buy games. Just like games that are shilled on /v/ and Reddit always sell well on Steam from time to time.

Let's not forget the Wii U was outselling the PS4 in Japan for a long time before the price drop. And there was a time when the Xbone actually sold better than the PS4 in America.

Microsoft decided to stop shilling the Xbox division was a big factor. Halo 5 didn't came with a Dewritos deal for once. And Nintendo is basically giving up on the western market.

Long story short, both Nintendo and Microsoft sold the PS4, not Sony itself.

Xbone gladly drops resolution and GFX for performance. For PS4 1080p with GFX up the arse is a statement. Halo 5 runs at stable 60 FPS, ot's almost rock solid, slightly dipping into 58-59 territory for second or 2. No big AAA up the arse game does this.
IPhill might try and steer towards 60FPS, no noncence crowd, Forza also runs at 1080p@60. But Right now it's backfiring.

MS actually paid tubers to shill for them, they fucked up communications, but that's typical for MS.

That was in the beginning, when MS still had hopes for the Xbox division. Now they basically aren't giving two fucks about them anymore. Every time Phil comes to announce something he always have that apologetic look on his face, they're not even shipping the bone anymore. It's over.

MS will either make a new console like Nintendo or just get out of the market.

Only up until recently.

Last patched boosted PS4 up to 28fps, and dropped the XBONE down to 20fps.

Not sure why CDPR are so incompetent.
