>>314873403When you play an RPG, it's about getting immersed in the world and feeling like you're a part of it. Under scrutiny, the world should hold up. By all pretenses, NV's Wasteland does. It makes more sense and let's you immerse yourself far better than 3's. When you start thinking about 3, it doesn't make sense.
Where the fuck are the settlements getting water purifiers from? The whole point of the story is that your dad is trying to make the water purified, if settlements can do it, let alone Mr. Handy in your house, who literally just makes water through the condensers, what's the point? Why did dad go through all of this shit when people can just remake Mr handy's or at least their condensers. It breaks the story through world design. Where the fuck are they getting food from? No farmland near any settlements, yet there are vendors inside that just sell food? Where the fuck is it coming from? From like the 8 Brahmins near all the cities totalled together?
Megaton is a city in the middle of an atomic bomb, why though? Why settle there when they can settle to the perfectly fine and pretty much abandoned town a hundred feet right next to them?
NV's world makes sense, because it seems like the society itself is actually rebuilding. Good springs, the first city you visit has farmland, clean water, and more. New Vegas itself has a giant crop farm right outside of it, that the NCR own. The everything makes sense and they also don't live next to fucking atom bombs that haven't dropped yet. They don't live in derelict ships. They don't live in beyond retarded places, they live like people trying to live life after the apocalypse 200 years ago.
