Or normal. MGS2 is hard but the alert resets everytime you leave the small area you're in. You'll only have trouble in a handful of areas that require being in a no-alert state.

I started Peace Walker after MGS3 hyped as shit for Big Boss and learned he was just moping around a decade after killing the boss.

Was kinda disappointed and haven't played it in a few weeks.

To be fair, he just act like that when he hears The boss againd and a few seconds later he said he would complete the mission.And not having the boss didn't crippled his way to live or act, according to the coversation he had a pretty normal life and along with being with a bunch of USA operations teams.

At the end pf MGS2 Raiden throws away player's dogtag and says he will be his own man from now on.

...and so he becomes a half-batshit cyborg, more akin to his child soldier persona but with sense of justice.

MGS3 also had Para-Medic, and the conversations she had with Naked Snake are also perfect.

No. Raiden wanted to be a hero, but when shit got real he wasn't able to keep up the facade. They explain this in MGR. He didn't choose to become a robot ninja, he was violated. He just tried to make the best of his situation, but he was ashamed enough he didn't want people calling him by his name.

Why the fuck does he have a dogtag with MY name on it? The metaphor is clear and clever but why the shit does Raiden have it in the first place. I guess it's just purely symbolic and there doesn't have to be a reason, but considering how well the rest of the game is thought out this always bothered me.

I suppose the 'canon' ending to MGS2 isn't that important, because the thematic one serves a better purpose. It'ss really the only thing in the game where things aren't clear and is open to some interpretation. The dogtag isn't nearly as important as the end sequence.
