The Mojave is fairly fucking empty though. A lot of the locations are just shacks that are on the map specifically for skill books. There's next to no variation in the landscape at all.
Also the point of more dialog in New Vegas is pretty pointless since most of the time, each dialog choice only gives you one unique line, followed by the same line given to each choice.
So fuck you.
New Vegas is actually my favourite, I'm just playing devil's advocate.

this is one argument that literally boggles my mind. if im given a prompt A and i can respond in two ways, X and Y that will boy yield B, but X has me murder someone and Y has me hack some terminal (just as examples of how different dialogue can be), i want to be given that path. what if im roleplaying as a fucking 1 INT mongoloid? then i either have to not proceed or kill the guy (if i want to role play), giving me a choice to make. what if im rping as a twisted fucking psychopath with a wicked sense of humor? then ill be inclined to pick the murder option anyways because thats what that character would do. what im role playing as a potential follower of the apocalypse? then ill pick the terminal hack because chances are im both fairly intelligent and dont want to unnecessarily kill.

it adds depth even if the overall outcome doesnt always change, which is very important for a ROLE PLAYING game

It is not so much you can't go anywhere you want It is Obsidian did everything in their power to send you on the path they wanted you to follow.

Some were reasonable and when they could not come up with a reasonable barrier they just threw up an invisible wall.

They would have been better off just using something akin to the original FO.

I enjoy both NV and FO3 extensively and i can't comprehend the fighting going on between the two "sides"

The best way to enjoy both games is doing TTW, though you'll probably be very OP when you get to the other "game"

I think Fallout 3 has more flaws than New Vegas, but when i play it, i dont go around and think "I WISH I WERE PLAYING NEW VEGAS RIGHT NOW"

What make an entire working rail system when you get the game to do something the looks and serves the intended purpose with less development time and effort? Efficiency and laziness are two different things.

There are a metric shit ton of things worth complaining about in FO3, and using a work around to get a perfectly working end result for a moving carriage is not one of them.

Technically, it's not.

It's actually the player who wears the train on his glove instead of an NPC who wears it like a hat. Then the glove plays an animation of you going down the tracks.

I will admit that I'd like to see the game for what it would have been going off of unused content. There's a world space for "gnr roof top" with some cell names referencing a nuclear bomb detonation. The chair you would sit in and the area that's marked for the bomb both roughly triangulate to where Megaton is located.

Also As a quest reward for completing Shoot them in the Head (Where Crowley sends you to retrieve the Keys to Fort Constantine) you normally receive the very unimpressive t-45d power armor. According to the Quest number and the item id, you were normally supposed to recceive the Medic Power armor, which makes a bit more sense.

It kind of really bumbs me out reading the VanBruen notes. Something to do with a mad scientist activating/ gaining control of one of the B.O.M.B Satelites. We could have had some comic-book vilain tier story and instead we saved the land by activating something that was never finished.

I don't think I've ever come to a situation needing it. I guess you could use it if you needed to loot something off of someone for a quest and don't want to bother pickpocketing them. You can wait for them to sleep and kill them.
