I played Anno 2070 for about 30 hours and had a bit of fun but it wasn't that great either
I played on a map on my own though I didn't want to get involved with combat, that feels really bad in a game like this
I didn't like some parts of it either, like how you had to huddle as many houses as possible within the influence circles of civil buildings that gave them buffs to upgrade, which meant your city had to be a clusterfuck instead of a pretty one.
Also other islands were used for goods production, but workers didn't have to travel to them, so transport ship automated routes were only useful to bring the goods over to consumers.
Same thing for warehouses, all of them on an island had a unified inventory so goods magically transported from one warehouse to the rest of the island.
