can't rush in either cause that would be a suicide. I mostly used 2 spiders and Nick the Zombie to tank enemies.

It's fun. Currently playing mage/archer duo with a buddy on Tactician mode. Almost done with the first area. Love the increased difficulty, new voice acting, and story changes.

New to Divinity. Looks fun. Buying when I get paid tomorrow. If I wanted to do a 2H warrior type with added lightning or fire magic would that be difficult to manage? I assume being in melee range alot would need health and armor and defense but if I'm putting some points into magic stuff I may get rekt or something.

Know next to nothing about it so may not matter. Will do more research when I'm home.

Mages used to take out plebs at mass. rogues used to take out single high marks. Rangers pretty much delegated to buffs and picking off scrubs one by one and any normal melee class 100% damage sponges.

You can easily put a couple of points into a magic school when playing a melee character
2h warriors usually just use Man-at-Arms skills anyway so you'll have plenty of points.
Plus you get a lot of ability points from gear.

It depends on your party makeup. Crafting and blacksmithing are generally useful no matter the makeup but they're more useful if you're rogue/warrior/ranger heavy, pyro is useful no matter what because it's a painless investment that brings utility(Haste, smokescreen, a summon)...

Elemental shields are OP as fuck.

wands, not staves. staff is a two handed melee weapon that has a ranged attack under the special category.

classes at character creation are just a baseline & the gear you spawn with. You can probably make a tanky dual wander but I don't know the details on how.

I made an archer with sneak, it's not that useful. Might as well go full archer, the craftable arrows are great.
