I wanted a Vita, but I got a 3DS instead, because everyone wouldn't shut up about Rune Factory 4, (it's a good game though). After that, I couldn't convince myself to buy a second 200 dollar portable, and I didn't wanna lug around 2 portables either. The PSTV allows me to own them both, without having to justify owning two portables.
To be honest, until a couple of months ago, I didn't know what the PSTV was at all. I kind of figured that it streamed PS4 games, but was it also a TV service like Apple has? Fuck so confusing. Then a friend of mine was like "No dude, it's a home console version of the Vita, it literally plays physical Vita games, and has access to it's PSN"
I don't know why Sony and the stores that sell the PSTV refuse to advertise it as anything but a PS4 streaming device, especially when that's it's weakest feature (It doesn't do a good job at it). But I think it would have sold better if people knew.
