>>314762643>The simple fact that they mix dungeon crawling with dating sim makes them original. Mixing dungeon crawling and dating sim(lol) together that way was somewhat new I suppose, but the way it was executed was so lackluster that neither part of the game felt entertaining the whole way through. >The simple fact that they are set in modern japanese high school makes the original. Modern Japanese high school isn't a new interesting setting at all. In the slightest. Maybe attending classes was new but it was just more cutscenes.
The simple fact that you don't control your party members in P3 makes it original.
Not controlling your party isn't a good interesting mechanic, it basically presets everyone to a gambit system(FFXII) and has them choose the best options based on a couple of preset battle tactics. Also artificial difficulty, but I'll ignore that since P3P rectifies this issue.
The simple fact that you shoot youself in the head to use skills makes P3 original.
An animation to summon your persona to use skills counts as originality? You're grasping at straws. It's a neat animation but that's all it is.
The simple fact that [YouTube] Persona 3 FES ost - Mass Destruction [Extended] (embed) is the main battle theme makes P3 original.
Music is fitting with the time the game takes place. The style of music or the annoying main battle theme don't make it any different from many other games. Much of the game music is reminiscent of Sega Dreamcast titles like JSR or Space Channel 5.
It's not original.
