don't get me wrong, the witcher 3 is a great game but by all means its combat isn't great, it barely scratches the surface of decent combat

also thinly veiled comparing it against dark souls won't make it any better, souls games are far superior in terms of combat and that's saying a lot seeing how overrated that combat system is

How can anybody trust Bethesda? Does anybody remember Skyrim? Why would anybody think that Bethesda won't dumb down and casualize more the fallout series? It's all they do. Skyrim was a disaster of an rpg. Just thinking that the quality of the FO4 quests and plotlines will probably be similar with the ones on tesV I shiver in panic. There's nothing to be hyped about.

Not much better, but still better. Made by a veteran company, has won several GOTY's before, know what they're doing. Not risking too much (TW3 went 'omg our grafix are GOAT' then let everybody down) but still improving areas. Streamlining shit instead of making it a cluster fuck. Still nothing great thou. Doesn't deserve GOTY.

Downgraded. Twice. Cut content. Not just small bits, entire chapters. Nonsence plot, even compared to MGS games. Crap MMO quests. Multiplayer you can't get out of. MICROTRANSCATIONS. The fact this got better reviews than even TW3 (which was shit) is fucking mind blowing.

>Undertale
Actually does something different. Made with rocks and sticks, made by one person, unique setting, music, content, designs. Good story, mixes everything up and is downright brilliant. Cheap as well.

So, it's pretty fucking clear who deserves GOTY. There is a reason Undertale is one of the greatest games of all time and out scores $80m MGSV and is critically acclaimed.

Rooting for the underdog is a big appeal of the indie games market for some people. Middle class white people living in San Francisco paying $5k/mo rent go on twitter and pretend to be starving artists to build a community for their game they can then exploit for as much money as possible.

Also saying it's made by one person makes people expect less, so when the game is actually pretty standard they're blown away rather than getting exactly what they expected.

To be fair CD project and beth are aiming for completely different things
Witcher3 wasn't open enough to satisfy the morrowind itch for example, especially with how railroad the quests were past the choices, I mean it was often impossible to see certain stuff with senses unless previous part was triggered
witcher 3 is my Goty, but Bethesda doesn't need to be as high quality as switcher to win people over, it just needs to be open enough really
