ITT: things you loved about the souls' "storytelling"
DS: Never played DS but heard that there was tension between sorcerers and clerics (or whatever they're called), who both unknowingly worshipped the same god
Dark souls 1: DkS1 ambiguity about the world and lack of storytelling gave me the same feeling I have about the origins of our world. The info/theories are out there but I find it hard what to believe -- a "must see to believe" kinda guy". Fire came and things started to happen similar to the big bang. You're given that feeling that so much shit has happened before your time, the golden age has passed.
The history of Anor Londo, the other lords (e.g. gwynevere's husband) that we know next to nothing about, because we weren't there... i kinda like it. Things that we werent around for remain a mystery. That just because we are CU we don't need to have every detail about the past unfold in front of us and it gives some more depth to the world.
Gwyn. Fucking Gwyn! Seeing his power in the beginning cutscene and then seeing him at the end along with the piano music was depressing. A shell of his former self. Reminds me of how I've seen many people become a shell of their former self, albeit through the passage of time and not immolation
Dark souls 2: The ominous feeling you get from Nashandra
