This guy knows whats up. Rocking a 120" screen here myself with glorious surround sound.

Also turns out 3D with a DLP projector is goddamn kick ass, I have literally zero ghosting, its quite impressive. Too bad its limited to 720P at 3D due to lack of HDMI 2.0 and nvidias shitty 3DTV Play software.

I use an ROG swift for the serious business shootmans.

Incorrect. On cheaper units however blacks can suffer. You can also suffer if you have super reflective walls, roof, floor etc however a shadow box surrounding the screen can largely resolve this.

Most projectors even cheaper ones can be used in ambient lighting these days, its not ideal but it can be done.

I went with the black pit though because "muh immersion" etc.

I use a TV because it's our entertainment center in the apartment. I have a PC, PS3, Dreamcast, and Genesis hooked up to it. Had to invest in a receiver not too long ago, luckily nvidia does HD audio through HDMI so I don't even need a soundcard.

Well save for the fucking horrific quality control. I have absolutely horrible, extreme pixel inversion. In fact I need to get off my ass and send it in for an RMA, its unbearable and apparently getting one without it is like pulling teeth.

Id not bother and just leave it but given how much I fucking paid for the for thing it should not have these kind of issues.

The 3D on it also blows as, massive amounts of ghosting no matter what you do. Also SLI is broken with 3D which is neat.

I've got my computer plugged into a $200 monitor and a $380 TV, and the TV blows the fuck out of the monitor quality wise in every way so I use my TV. Especially with backlight bleeding and contrast. Pic related

I guess a monitor might be slightly better if you spend a shit load of money, but that's literally a waste of money. I don't notice a difference in input delay at all. This monitor is advertised as 2 ms delay which is a made up bullshit number anyway.

Price/Performance of a monitor is bullshit to that of a TV. You may as well just spend the money on an even better, bigger TV.

Unless you ONLY play video games and don't watch TV or movies, in which case you should just kill yourself, anyway, then buying an expensive monitor is a waste of money.

I don't play competitive games, but if I did I would not have a problem with the TV. Even if I did I could just use my monitor which has basically the same input delay is the more expensive ones.

Move out of the budget range and most monitors at least for gaming are going to completely ream any TV not from the top end of each vendors range.

Faster refresh, less input delay, less processing, faster pixel times etc.

Why the fuck would I watch movies and TV at my PC like some sort of peasant? My PC is for games and PC stuff, not jerking off on netflix. If I want to do that shit ill go sit out in my home theater with my "bigger, better TV".

When I want precision, speed, quality and high resolutions I will use my vastly superior monitor.

Though that being said I would change to a TV for PC usage under one condition. If I could pick up for a decent price one of those 50+ inch OLED units. Goddamn the blacks on those are sexy as fuck.

Eliminating input latency is infinitely more important to me than image quality.

I bought a TN monitor with a VGA port and an external deinterlacing box that accepts composite so I can connect older consoles with very little input latency. Colors and blacks aren't the best, but fuck it, I can time jumps and attacks in NES games as easily as if I was playing on my CRT.
