Say an average family capable of affording is 4 people. Most households only need one Xbox. Some will go without, some will buy double, but it'll even out. (900 million potential sales)
Older generations are unlikely to purchase any video games. That's another 1/3 of sales gone. (600 million)
Of the remainder, not all households will be willing to purchase more than one console, and a lot will just stick with one console. Reasons may include personal/family values, not spoiling the kids, etc. Let's say it's split evenly between all consoles, including handhelds. (Wii, PS4, XBO, 3DS, Vita) (125 million remaining)
Even then, 125mil is just unrealistic given the sales trajectory of previous console generations.
