So much so that many teams would decline invitations to tournaments or show up and forfeit just to collect some winnings. EE has come out time and time again complaining that they needed to condense the tournaments and instead of having 50 - 1,000$ tournaments to have a single 50,000$ tourney instead.
That's what this is (valve finally stepped up), it's supposed to get the entire pro-scene in four seasonal tournaments. The Majors and the International are two of the four, I dunno if they've announced the names for the other two.
It makes perfect sense to me, I stopped giving a fuck about pro-play aside from the international because there was too much shit.
