I don't even own it on the Wii U so I never used this mode.

My thoughts on it are: Why did they go with generic stages/backgrounds instead of themes? Have a Mario theme, or Metroid theme. Instead they just put in generic backgrounds which makes the stages look boring.

Only a visual improvement to the horrible stage maker in Smash Bros Brawl. It doesn't have enough features to really be worth using. Which it could if they updated it. But are too focused on getting out characters. Stages (a builder or official) are just an afterthought.
