Original Pudge =/= Dota 2 Pudge. Blizzard did the hook thing in Wrath, which came out before Dota 2. Stitches is based on the Wrath abominations and Roadhog is based on Scorpion.

It was a custom map, not a mod. Blizzard's abominations have never had the ability to hook and pull targets to them from a distance in WC3. Their hooks are purely melee weapons in that setting.
