Nintendo will never make games like the old days because their older developers are now executives and producers.

Some of the new guys are still quite talented. When they aren't forced to make a shitty Animal Crossing or Mario Party game. Someone like Aonuma is the exception and should be fired.

Despite making some of the worst Zelda games, his games have sold the most in the series. He won't be fired until his games sell poorly.

Also, Miyamoto seems to think his 'artistic vision' is great. Overlooking how his vision is a total focus on story, which timeline lore and 20+ hours of dialogue is precisely what is killing Zelda.

Nintendo sold out for the casual player money.

Sony, always following Nintendo's lead, went all out for casuals with the PS4. They only released one first party game in 2015 and it's almost universally regarded as the worst exclusive of the year.

Nintendo has never made a system that didn't have revolutionary games. The problem is that revolutionary does not necessarily mean better.

But GameCube had Metroid Prime, Zelda Four Swords, and Pikmin which are all genre-defining games.

There's nothing wrong with taking a hobby less seriously than other people. I have a casual interest in those quadricopter kits but I don't go around mocking people who spend their paychecks upgrading theirs.

It's fine to be a casual, but you don't need to deride people who have more interest in a subject than you.

I'm not mocking you, I'm saying that if you used to like games and then you started spending 80-90% of your leisure time playing/talking about them and then all of a sudden you started hating all the games that came out, you've probably just become embittered. Take a few months off talking about games online, don't read everyone's venom, catch up on some games or replay a favorite. You'll enjoy playing games more.
