Everyone on /v/ has been shitposting about GOTY lately, but what REALLY definitely makes a GOTY what it is? I think I've figured out a pretty foolproof set of requirements:
1) Open World/exploration based gameplay (the highest form of gaming and most important genre)
2) Technologically advanced, pushes the medium forward
3) Made by a big studio with a big budget, so the game can live up to it's potential
4) Has to be long enough experience, 20-30 hours at least, including replay value
Following that criteria, I think I've narrowed it down to these titles:
Metal Gear Solid 5
Fallout 4
Witcher 3
Bloodborne
Does that sound good to everyone for our definitive finalists?
