Lab Zero and basically every other independent game developer on the planet that is currently uwing or is ever intending to use crowdfunding to make their projects happen ought to file a class-action lawsuit against Igarashi and this game's publisher for single-handedly poisoning the very concept of crowdfunding for every other independent game developer in the entire world.

Lab Zero honestly just need too much money for an indie game. It looks charming, but it doesn't look like it's worth the asking price. They need to drop their budget, rethink their project or quit while they're ahead.

Bloodstained isn't that bad compared to Mighty No. 9. I think you could also throw mud at Star Citizen, too, until they actually deliver a game. (Braben is a brazen capitalist, but at least Elite actually released and they know how to make a game.)

Crowd funding is going to have its high profile successes and failures. With the indie ones, we're taking the risk publishers did, with the benefit of seeing the games we want to play. But we don't get to micromanage the developers either. That's the yoke they were escaping from, and the kind of executive meddling that ruins projects.

It isn't going to go smoothly every time. Keep your expectations realistic, and accept that sometimes you'll get a great game and sometimes you'll get a turd, or nothing.

And to be fair, while you may not like it's style, Skullgirls was fucking fenomenal and one if a kind in these regards.

Problem is: Indivisible doesn't look that good, even for early alpha. It has absolutely fucking nothing on, say, Vanillaware projects and those costed a fraction of what Lab Z needs (4.5 millions versus Dragon's Crown being the first game to cost more than 1 mil).

Lab Zero shoukd have used the Skullgirls assets to make a cheap beat-em-up to fund Indivisible. Bloodstained was always upfront about the fact that they needed money to prove interest, and Lab Zero should have followed the same model.

The reason LZ needs such a high initial goal is because 505 is handling the acilliary fees associated with actually releasing a game. But a significant portion of the actual development funding Is resting on the shoulders of the Indiegogo. If they had asked for 500,000 or 800,000 they probably could have made it. But that isn't going to happen.

No, if they had asked for an insufficient amount added to an insufficient amount already secured by other means, added to an insufficient amount promised by a publisher, all the streams together would have been sufficient. Again, they should have made an inexpensive beat-em-up with existing assets, or done a smaller project-for-hire they didn't own the IP for to put money into their reserves.

Okay let me educate you a bit.

The studio has no money AND does not own the skullgirl IP. Autumn games own it, reusing the assets is out of the question unless they could have gotten a deal for more Skullgirls with said publisher, which they did try to no avail.

Second, that's not how it works you little shit. A studio doesn't fund it's own project with money put aside from earlier projects. Dev studios get no royalties, they just get paid their salaries and move on to trying to get a new deal with another publisher.

None of the things you proposed are possible or even grounded in the realm of reality. Stop thinking your opinion is of any worht and get educated on the industry before comenting on what people should have done.

Im excited for bloodstained, but I also have a wii u, I mean it's a side scroller but still, if he is using unreal engine 4 to make blazblue like backgrounds it will probably be amazing, hope it isn't gimped too hard visually in comparison to the other versions. Im also using a flash drive for space on wii u, which has worked okay so far but im getting paranoid by people saying to buy an external HDD. This is in the same boat as yooka laylee for me

Compare to Shenmue III's where the first handful of stretch goals were for fucking subtitles in different languages. Yawn.

And then more goals were things that should just be in the base game.

Bloodstained's had more interesting stretch goals instead of something like "Weapon system" and "Leveling system". Which Shemnue advertised. Rapport, Skill tree and expanded hometown.

They've been doing monthly updates, next one is probably coming tommorow.

They showed off the second player character last month along with adding some more fan goals at the event they showed him at. I don't remember all of them but I think one was to have Emperor Bismarck Kappa the Third as a joke boss and another was alternate hairstyles.
