Mother loses her kid at a theme park.
You play as the mother trying to find him
Learn the backstory (somewhat) behind the place in the process.
Its a walkathon with literally no gameplay. Think of it like an interactive story.
Overall it was bretty good but I hope some anon can explain those questions to me.

In the Secret World, you learn the park is a cover-up for some anima-infusing type of thing. The owner of the park built on top of the 'cursed land' which had a history of magical happenings/bad shit happening on it. Owner builds park, harvests people who go in it while having bad shit happen to them too. Owner wants to infuse himself with magical things/anima? to become immortal. Land itself (more like entire island) is on top of a Gaia Engine & Filth (Filth is that whispering thing that wants to get out and makes people go crazy, Engine keeps Filth secured/imprisoned if I understood that correctly).

I'm not really sure to be honest. I just know it's supposed to be like anima-infuser thing disguised as a park which harvests energy/anima? from anyone inhabiting the park and its rides at the time. The owner of the park infusing himself with anima would be like the players in the Secret World game (hurr durr MMO), as the players themselves are supercharged anima-infused beings blessed by Gaia or some shit (via a magical bee lodged in their throat...that orange flying thing in the beginning of the game is a bee probably) granted with superpowers and immortality.

Assuming she did kill her kid and not hallucinate the entire thing due to her depressed mindfuckery state at the time, I imagine the park amplified her emotions past reason at the time. The park (and some locations in Solomon Island in general where it takes place) is on cursed ground and probably possesses/pushes people to do bad shit (ex: Chad and stabbing kid's eyes, other accidents on other rides). Lorraine would have just been a depressed mother trying to deal with her shitty current situation with more drug pills but the park and its owner (who is now the 'Boogeyman' as a result of his infusing probably) took it a step further in her mental state and tempted her to kill her kid (he makes her hold the pick but lets go last minute).

I enjoyed the game, its ok as a stand-alone but some of the background story makes more sense if you read into the TSW stories too

She lost husband in that park, hated her kid because she didn't have money to support him and she was depressed. She saw demons because she continued using prescription drugs even after a therapy.
