From what I know it was always hard for the developer to implement in the newer titles. I read a developer's response to why there wasn't a pratcam in reincarnation and he basically said that it was too hard to implement and it had a lot of problems, this was from their offical website.

While I think Carma 2 had superior gameplay overall, I prefer the original game for its atmosphere and the finer touches that it has. I can't say I've ever played TDR3k or Reincarnation, but from what I've heard they're both shit.

Reincarnation is pretty good, it got alotta of backslash because it had very shitty performance back when it came out. But they updated the game since then and it runs great now. I had more fun with it than Carma 2, so that says something. Carma 3 just sucks monkeyfuck, it was made by different people, I'd say skip it.
