Why is there always those guys who cheat on online leaderboards?

Why can't arcade games with Online Leaderboards deal with this kind of stupid shit?

I just want it to be possible to get first place, because the game end's before you can even get half of the #1 score, I can't.

In this game, it's literally impossible to go past 2million on normal, because the game ends early on and you can only get a certain amount of points from enemies/items/etc.

Leaderboards are ultimately fucking pointless and are likely only added in for cheap player retention in a retarded designer's mind.

The reality is it literally does not matter, 95% of games can be replicated by another 5 players or an AI so how are you supposed to tell who is #1? RNG?
Literally the only thing that should matter in terms of keeping score is how well you do compared to a majority and only give more specifics in your local area e.g. Trackmania has an obscure ranking system that pretty much boils down to

>Get better times on said maps (to an extent in relation to your current rank)

I wish more people had played that game, most of the custom maps are complete and utter trash (it doesn't help that you get an achievement for simply publishing a map).

If only the editor wasn't as restrictive, but with mod's this game would be even more amazing.
