Why do you all rate it more than the first one? I've just started it and it's easy as fuck (playing on the highest difficulty).

agreed. It takes only 2 shots to kill a necro in DS2 while in DS1 you have to unload a full clip just to kill one

I agree. Not really a Dead Space fan, but the atmosphere and environments of the first game were beautifully crafted.

I'd say 1 and 2 are about equal. 3 isn't a complete train wreck like /v/ makes it to be. Nowhere near as good as the first ones but very much playable.

DS2 feels like gears of war, it's fun but i dont find it scary at all.

i IMPLORE you, if you're playing on pc, to just pretend like all of those retarded variant items in the shop for 0 credits don't exist. fucking destroys any economic balance right off the bat.

also the game does get more difficult as you go on; there's also a bit where you revisit the ishimura

Just letting u know right, later there is a puzzle with blocks to be put in order for the engine to work. One of the blocks is facing the other way so it isnt obvious to spot. I spent like 20 minutes looking for the damn thing, guess thats what i get for playing it slightly darker in brightness to make up for a slightly less scare factor.

for pure horror DS1 is clearly superior, but DS2 had less gunky controls (especially the zero-g) despite sacrificing some spooks, so for raw gameplay DS2 wins out in my opinion.
