sup /v/. So I'm looking for a really specific mechanic in games, specifically in any genre except dungeon-crawler (since it's really common in them but I don't really like them).

So basically games where you have to go into a specific area to start building up exp/money/items/whatever, but the only save point is in a hub area. So you have to just constantly weigh up between going deeper into the area, or going back to base to cash in your items/etc but having to do everything again. I'm sure I've played games with this mechanic before but I can't remember any of them right now, except for maybe Persona 3/4 and, y'know. Related image.
