Animal Crossing take a whole memory card by itself and yet funny enough you can take out the disk while playing as the game only load from it once at startup.

Beside the few added items the only thing that really change from the N64 version was that the game now had a system clock so the player doesn't have to manually put it in daily. So why does the game take so much fucking data?

I like it, but yeah. card fusions were generalized, so I could fuse for this 3000 atk dinosaur, and with the wasteland card I could pretty much beat any monster to death.

had to beat some harry potter and the sorcerer stone game for the ps1 in one sitting because my memory cards weren't working. found out after the fact that a small chunk of plastic broke off a card or the flap and was blocking the port slightly.

Did you just lose the memory card, or somehow own everything but the memory card? In their 20-some years of existence I never pulled mine's out of their system aside from taking it to a friend's house.

The "I thought PS1 cards worked on PS2" excuse is the only reason I can think of. How can it get lost if it stays inside the system, unless you're constantly switching them out for other cards?

Silent Hill. I play that shit at least 3 times a year without card, not that the game is hard. I did get insta killed at the end by that tentacle monster near the end a few times. Everytime I replay I always get nervous I did it wrong when that cutscene plays

When I was young, me and my cousin would spend hours getting all of the characters unlocked in Melee, just so we could play as them. We did this at least once a week, sometimes twice. Got pretty good at smash that way.lol

My PS1's memory card ports were fucked up. I bought 2 or 3 cards but none of them worked.
I ended up beating the Tomba and Spyro games without saving, but I really didn't buy a lot of PS1 games.

Also influenced by decision not to buy a PS2 because I was a fucking retard.
Missed out on a whole generation of games because of defective hardware.

When I was a kid I used to rent a gamecube every once in a while from a local game store to play some of the Nintendo games I always missed out on, unfortunately we forgot to rent a gamecube one. I remember getting so pissed off at Luigi's Mansion because I'd die 6 hours into the game and have to start over again
